The MAS Debt Project has been funded by the Money Advice Service since October 2014. As a result Citizens Advice Bournemouth is able to deliver a wide variety of debt and financial capability advice and guidance to clients living and working in the Borough of Bournemouth.
Since April 2014 Citizens Advice Bournemouth has been a PensionWise Delivery Centre for Dorset and the Isle of Wight. Our PensionWise Guiders provide guidance to the over 50’s on their Defined Contribution Pension Pots.
Big Energy Saving Week runs is jointly organised by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, Citizens Advice and Energy Saving Trust. It is a national campaign delivered through the media that aims to help householders take practical steps to cut their energy bills by encouraging them to check they are on the best deal, to switch tariff or supplier and to save energy by taking control of their heating and electricity. There is also a focus on raising awareness of energy and efficiency issues through joint working between the voluntary sector and energy suppliers.
Macmillan Cancer Support Services – Citizens Advice Bournemouth and Poole are funded by Macmillan to deliver benefits advice and guidance to those that are suffering from cancer. The Caseworker can advise clients about all benefits they are entitled to and provide help claiming them. They also ensure that they are aware of any available grants which could assist them, and can provide advice on other issues.
This partnership is new to 2017 and Citizens Advice Bournemouth and Poole are working with the Stour Valley and Poole Partnership to deliver income maximisation and benefits advice to those living across the Poole and Stour Valley areas of Dorset.
Citizens Advice has received funding from Wessex Water for a number of years enabling us to complete Wessex Water TAP forms for clients that have Sewage debt or are struggling to meet their ongoing payments to Wessex Water.
‘Connecting Advice in Dorset’ is an Advice Services Transition Fund project with the purpose ‘To develop and strengthen an integrated network of advice agencies in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole areas, enabling providers to deliver a more efficient and comprehensive service to clients’. Jobcentre Plus assists people with new and existing benefit claims (Job Seekers Allowance and Employment Support Allowance), as well as providing access to information about available work, CV tips and interview preparation.
