About our Volunteers
Our volunteers dedicate their time, skills and passion to help deliver our crucial services.
So we’re starting the summer by celebrating our volunteers this Volunteers’ Week for the outstanding work they do and praising their tireless commitment to helping each and every person who walks through our doors or calls our AdviceLine.
Zoe Bradley, Chief Executive Officer says:
“We want to say a big thank you to all our volunteers; we couldn’t do without them. None having dedicated as much of their life to Citizens Advice Bournemouth as Doreen Lee; who has been with the charity for over 33 years having helped in excess of 10,000 clients with their issues.”
Originally from London, Doreen moved to Bournemouth to marry her husband and start a family. Doreen started voluntary work with Citizens Advice Bournemouth when her children left home; looking for something to fill the void.
After 33 years at the charity, Doreen says:
“My time at the bureau has helped me to appreciate what I have after learning about other peoples’ problems and has given me a focus in life. Nothing is more gratifying than receiving thanks with a hug or a handshake after helping someone with their problem. I enjoy every minute I spend at the bureau, helping clients and working with my colleagues, and I hope to remain doing so for years to come.”
